The Lockwood 570 "Australian Oval Cylinder" is used on Lockwood Cylinder Mortice Locks such as the 3770 Series and 3570 Series (3772, 3572 etc.), 3780 and 3580 Series (3782, 3582 etc.). The lock application and function is dependent on the various cylinder cams shown below: 

Lockwood "X" Cam

• 'X' Cam SP570 -18ZP.
• Retracts the latch only, does not lock and unlock the mortice. 

Lockwood "Y" Cam

• 'Y' Cam SP571-18ZP.
• Suits 3571/3573 series deadbolt mortice locks.
• Locks and unlocks bolt.

Lockwood "Z" Cam

• 'Z' Cam SP572-18ZP.
• Locks and unlocks the handle furniture.

Used to lock and unlock the handles on the mortice lock. 

Lockwood "W" Cam

• 'W' Cam SP575-18ZP.
• Used in conjunction with turn snibs to operate a turn snib adapter. 
• Lockwood W cam (or M cam if attached to the cylinder upside down).

Lockwood "R" Rabbit Ear Cam

• 'R' Cam SP3540-815ZP - (Old 590-815).
• Lockwood rabbit ear cam.
• Suits 3540 and 590 series swing bolt mortice locks, operate bolt.

Lockwood Selector® "X7" Cam - 3700 Series Only

• Retracts the latch bolt.
• Locks the locking bar (for hold back).

Lockwood Selector® "V" Cam - 3700 Series Only

• Locks and unlocks the locking bar.
• Retracts the latch bolt after unlocking the lock.
